A passenger identified as Jussi has sharply criticised VR’s outsourced lost-property service, calling the process unnecessarily difficult and costly after his bag was left behind on a train. He says the system made it harder than it should have been to get ordinary forgotten items back.

The incident happened in mid-June during a work trip from the Turku region to Seinäjoki. Jussi says he and his colleagues realised only after the train had arrived that they were already at their destination, and that the bag had remained on board.

According to Jussi, the way the lost-property service works was the main problem. He says he would have had a better chance of recovering the bag more easily if he had not followed VR’s instructions.
