A silver-cheeked pufferfish has drawn attention across the Mediterranean and caused unpleasant encounters for swimmers in Greece. According to HBL, the fish has become a talking point because it has unsettled people on the beaches, even though the wider risk appears limited.
Professor Kristina Snuttan Sundell from Gothenburg says the chance of being attacked by the fish is extremely low. That matters for holidaymakers now in the middle of the summer season, because it puts the situation into perspective: the fish is troubling, but it is not a major safety threat.
