Shipping to and from Iranian ports has resumed in the Strait of Hormuz, according to U.S. Vice President J D Vance. He also said that American warships have lifted their blockade in the strategically important waterway.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most critical routes for oil and cargo transport, so any change there can quickly affect global trade. HBL reported the remarks from Vance, but it remains unclear how the situation will develop and whether other parties in the region have confirmed the move.
