The conflict is widening across the region after fresh US attacks and Iranian retaliation. The closure of the strait could quickly affect global shipping and energy flows.

The United States has carried out new attacks on Iran, while Iran is responding with strikes against several countries in the region. The latest exchange marks a sharp escalation and raises concerns about a broader conflict in the Middle East.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guard said the Strait of Hormuz is being closed “until further notice,” HBL reported. The waterway is one of the world’s most important shipping routes, so any disruption there can have immediate international consequences. Iran’s chief negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf also wrote: “We warned you.”
