An entire apartment building was evacuated in Tampere’s Tammela district after an empty flat was deliberately set on fire. Iltalehti reports that 24-year-old Anni Eliisa Pieski is suspected in the case and was under the influence of intoxicants at the time.

The incident took place on Kullervonkatu. According to Iltalehti, Pieski had originally gone there to return a key to a resident, but instead set the apartment on fire.

The blaze led to the precautionary evacuation of the whole building. The case has drawn attention because a fire in one flat quickly escalated into a situation affecting all residents in the building.
