Police in Eastern Finland are investigating an attempted manslaughter in Kuopio. According to police, the driver of a black BMW hit a young boy on Hulkontie, and investigators say they have very reliable observations about what happened.

Police say two people have been detained in connection with the case. The suspects are around 20 years old and are suspected of attempted manslaughter and aggravated drunken driving.

Police say they have a strong view that the boy was hit deliberately. The investigation is continuing, and police have not yet released further details about the incident.
