The Pentagon has sent NATO allies a questionnaire asking whether they are meeting Donald Trump’s vision for the transatlantic alliance, according to Yle News. Finland is among the countries that have received and are responding to the inquiry.

The move highlights how closely Washington is examining allied commitments at a time when the future direction of NATO remains a political issue in the United States. It is not yet clear how many allies have replied or what consequences, if any, the questionnaire could have.
