A new Futuro house has been temporarily erected in Helsinki, bringing one of Finland’s best-known design curiosities back into view. According to Yle, the building is completely new, even though the Futuro house is remembered as an international sensation from decades ago.

Only a few dozen Futuro houses were ever made, which makes the Helsinki structure unusual in its own right. Rather than a relocation of an old unit, the new build highlights how rare the original series was and why the design still attracts attention.
