Mirra Andrejeva has won her first Grand Slam title at the French Open in Paris. According to HBL, the 19-year-old Russian defeated qualifier Maja Chwalinska in straight sets in the final and sealed an unexpected championship.

Andrejeva’s victory came with 2.8 million euros in prize money. In her winner’s speech, she said she could hardly believe that she had won.

The title is the biggest of Andrejeva’s career so far. With the French Open triumph, she joins the list of Grand Slam champions for the first time.
