Concern grows over billionaire’s estate in Loviisa as the grounds fall into disrepair

Locals say the large property owned by a Russian billionaire has been quiet for years. The overgrown grounds suggest the site has been left unattended.

A large estate in Loviisa, in Finland’s Uusimaa region, is drawing concern from local residents after signs of neglect became increasingly visible. Iltalehti reported that the grounds around the villa have fallen into poor condition.

The paved yard is partly broken, and saplings and grass are pushing up through the gaps in several places. According to local observations, no one has been seen at the property for at least a couple of years, raising questions about how long it has stood unused.

The case matters locally because large private estates can shape the appearance and upkeep of an area even when they are empty. For now, the main question is what will happen to the property next and who is responsible for its maintenance.
