A 50-year-old ferry that might otherwise have been left to rust has been given a new purpose. Jarmo Lohikari bought the vessel from a bankrupt estate for about 8,000 euros and spent a year and a half turning it into a sauna and experience boat.

According to HBL, the project was not just about repairing an old boat but about creating a completely different use for it. The finished vessel is now meant for leisure trips, with the sauna forming the core of the concept.

What began as a relatively cheap purchase has become a distinctive project with a clear identity. For Lohikari, the transformation means the old ferry has been saved from obscurity and given a new role in today’s boating culture.
