Finland’s president and Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen have welcomed a preliminary peace deal between the United States and Iran, describing it as a step that could reduce tensions if it holds.
Valtonen said she believes all parties involved have an interest in finding a permanent solution. The comments come as the agreement is still only preliminary, and it is not yet clear how the sides will turn the deal into a lasting settlement.
Yle News reported the Finnish response on Monday, as international attention remains focused on whether the US-Iran understanding can survive the next stage of talks.
