F-Musiikki, one of Finland’s oldest music retailers, has entered corporate restructuring after saying that its debt burden is no longer sustainable.
The 129-year-old company says rising online competition has been a major factor behind the financial strain. The move signals how quickly long-established brick-and-mortar retailers can be pressured by changing consumer habits.
Yle News reported the restructuring on Wednesday. At this stage, the company has not publicly detailed what the process will mean for customers, staff or its store network.
