The Berlin Marathon is part of the World Marathon Majors, a series known for unusually large prize money and bonuses. According to HS, Alisa Vainio is set to receive a bonus for a Finnish record, adding a national angle to an already high-profile race.

Berlin is one of the most closely watched marathons in the world, and major status means strong performances can bring more than just a finishing place. For Vainio, the race is therefore about both results and the financial reward tied to a record-breaking run.
