Amnesty Finland’s director Frank Johansson says Finland’s efforts to defend itself do not release the country from its international obligations. In his view, security is not based on weapons alone, but also on whether the state upholds the commitments it has made.
Ilta-Sanomat reported Johansson’s message as debate over security remains high on the agenda. He argued that strengthening defence and meeting international obligations are not competing goals, but tasks Finland must handle at the same time.
