Aduki recalls Good Good spreads over missing allergy labels

The chocolate-hazelnut spread is not considered defective, but the packaging is missing Finnish and Swedish allergen information. The labels are in English and French instead.

Aduki Oy is recalling a batch of Good Good chocolate-hazelnut spreads after the packaging was found to be missing the required Finnish and Swedish allergen labels. The company says the product itself is not faulty, but the labelling issue means the batch cannot remain on sale as is.

The problem concerns the information on the package, not the spread inside it. According to the report, allergen details were printed in English and French, even though food sold in Finland must also provide the key information in Finnish and Swedish.

Labelling mistakes can matter quickly in food products because allergy information needs to be easy to find in the languages consumers expect. Iltalehti reported the recall on Monday.
